Some student loan information for you |

Although I had a scholarship in college, I graduated with a degree in Psychology that left me with not too many options in the career world unless I went back to school. So, I thought about many options and one of them ended up being dental hygene - a lucrative position that only took 2 years of studying. Of course, I wouldn't have a scholarship so, naturally, I had to look for money and the topic of loans came up.
I was a novice to student loans, but the people at the community college gave me some great student loan information that, although I ended up not doing what I planned, helped me in understanding loans much better. So, if you need some student loan information, here is what I learned.
Student Loan Information 101
There are two types of loans through the government. One is at 6% and the other is at 8% interest. Both have their limits. The 6% you can take out by yourself, though is limited in amount. The 8% you can work with your parents to take out and has more.
Never, ever get a non-subsidized (non gov) loan. This is the most valuable student loan information I received, because many companies will suck you into ridiculous interest loans (some even as high as 25%!) and take advantage of your student naivete.
